Adventures On Marijuana: All You Need To Know

All Are Welcome

Marijuana is one of the earliest psychoactive substances used by man. It is a blend of the dried leaves and inflorescence of the plant Cannabis Sativa, known as Indian hemp. It may either be green, gray, or brown. Marijuana is made from the Cannabis plant, which has three species: Cannabis ruderalis, Cannabis sativa, and Cannabis indica. Marijuana is also dubbed Blanche, bhang, hashish, reefer, herb, pot, ganja, old man, grass, weed, hash, sinsemilla, tar, hash oil, dagga, and chronic.

Low-grade marijuana comprises 1 to 4 percent delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is what is usually sold recreationally. THC is recognized as the most active psychoactive agent in cannabis. Sinsemilla, which is high-grade marijuana, contains 7 to 8 percent THC while hashish is between 7 and 20 percent. Hash oil is the most intense form of cannabis and contains up to 70% THC.

How one feels

The experience people have while smoking marijuana will vary significantly between individuals. Normally one experiences, relaxation, and mood rise within minutes and about a half hour later sedation and drowsiness. Duration of meditative silence is sprinkled with excitement.

Form Types

Various types of cannabis include unprocessed, kief, and hashish. The unprocessed form of marijuana, which is usually the female cannabis plant consists of dried flowers, subtending leaves, and stems. It is the most commonly used form of cannabis.

Kief, on the other hand, is essentially marijuana in powder form. To obtain it, one has to sort it from the leaves of a marijuana plant. However, apart from consuming Kief as a powder form, it is also added in tea or placed in a cake while baking.

Hashish, also known as a hash, is another form of marijuana. Hash is the pitch of cannabis that has been concentrated. Hash is not as famous as marijuana because it is more potent than regular marijuana. It is commonly consumed through joints. There are those who eat it, although this usually is not recommended.

How is Marijuana Used?

It can be smoked, chewed, drank, or eaten. Marijuana is smoked, either in a pipe or a water pipe. Smoking marijuana produces immediate effects, and the flowers instead of the leaves are used while smoking marijuana. However, many people normally loosely roll a cigarette known as a joint. Some will take the time to remove the cigar out and replace the tobacco with marijuana, to create what are called blunts. Unfortunately, both joint and blunts can be laced with other substances, such as PCP or crack cocaine a potent drug. This generates a considerably mind-altering high to the user. While smoking may be the primary option for the many, it certainly isn’t the only way. Marijuana can also be cooked as a tea or blended into baked products such as cookies or brownies

Medical marijuana

The main medicinal ingredient in marijuana is Cannabinoids. Cannabinoids have anti-psychotic properties, which counter the effects of THC. Today, production labs are now developing strains of cannabis that contain a high concentration of CBD. Some of these strains have CBD concentrations of over 30%, which enable people living with conditions and benefit from medical marijuana without the high amount of THC. Marijuana was found to treat the head-splitting pain that results from migraines effectively.

The supporters of medical marijuana also proposed that it can help in treating other ailments like chronic pain, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, cancer, and epilepsy. Medical marijuana can reduce epileptic seizures, increase appetite, relieve anxiety, and soothe nausea. Arthritis is another common disease, usually in older adults, with no current cure, and marijuana has been proved to improve the symptoms of this disease as well. Synthetic analogs of THC are in everyday use in oncology and AIDS

Industrial applications

Cannabis grown for the industry is called industrial marijuana, or hemp. Hemp typically has deficient concentrations of THC. Hemp has multiple uses; for example, the seeds can be pounded for food, oil, and beauty products. Hemp fibers can be used for paper, rope, and sturdy fabrics. People have also grown hemp for millennia.

Effects of marijuana

The instant impacts of marijuana are disinhibition, euphoria, insomnia, poor reflexes, altered sensory perceptions, inattention, and loss of memory. The active ingredient THC crosses the blood-brain barrier and stimulates specific receptors in a midbrain structure called nucleus accumbens. This leads to the discharge of dopamine, a central exogenic neurotransmitter. It stimulates the pleasure pathway comprising the hippocampus and limbic pathway. With regular use, the person becomes psychologically addicted to marijuana. Two physical effects of marijuana use are increased heart rate and conjunctival injection. The increase in heart rate stabilizes over time, and a degree of tolerance develops to this effect of marijuana.

Recreational marijuana can motivate a lot of individuals to try this treatment alternative, although the medical use of cannabis is not something new. The use of this plant for healing purposes go way back in the early times when marijuana was offered to relief pain, digestive problems, and even psychological ailments, to mention a few conditions. Many health benefits can be traced to certain active ingredients that are in marijuana.
